Accor recognized as a Best Employer at the HR Awards

Accor was named Wagestream Employer of Choice (>1,000 employees) at the Australian HR Awards 2022 on Friday September 9.

An employer of more than 16,000 people in the Pacific region, Accor was recognized for its wide range of initiatives to attract, retain and develop talent, as well as for the flexibility and benefits it offers to employees.

Accor Pacific General Manager Sarah Derry said it was a great honor to receive this award.

“This award confirms that we have an engaged and caring team passionate about supporting and developing people and creating career paths,” she said.

Among the recent HR initiatives introduced at Accor is Same Day Hire, which allows a candidate to be interviewed, hired and start working on the same day.

Accor has also forged new partnerships to support recruitment, including a partnership with the Year13 organization to provide job opportunities for high school students, and developed the ALL Heartist Internship program to introduce 100 interns to a career in hospitality. .

Accor’s Work Your Way initiative, launched in November 2021, offers increased flexibility and benefits, while broader company benefits include travel allowances, birthdays and sabbaticals.

“It’s an exciting time to work in hospitality as the travel industry enters an era of transformation and growth. What I love about the hospitality industry is that it gives you the chance to grow and allows you to learn and grow, which opens doors for you to the world,” Derry said.

“We have many initiatives across our company that create incredible opportunities for career advancement, and we recognize that greater flexibility in the workplace creates a fulfilling and inclusive experience for team members.

“Our teams bring diversity, experiences and stories to our culture, which makes Accor a community where everyone can excel. Our employees are integral to our success and growth and I couldn’t be more proud of them.
