Tell me about yourself and your career to date?
Mottled history, ten years in the hotel business after university, followed by nearly ten years in finance recruitment and now 7 years with CIMA, a very rewarding role, nurturing and encouraging the future and spreading the “gospel” of CIMA as far and as widely as possible.
Can you tell me about your company and what you do?
The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants® (CIMA), founded in 1919, is the world’s first and largest professional body for management accountants. We help individuals and businesses succeed by harnessing the full power of management accounting – not just balance sheet accounting, but business accounting.
What was the biggest challenge the company faced and how did you respond?
The biggest challenge we have faced in recent years has been the impact of the lockdown and how we have been able to pivot our exam delivery in 2 months to ensure that despite all the other challenges our students have been faced with covid, they could rest assured that their CIMA exams would also challenge them
How do you think the Welsh economy will perform over the next 12 months?
Strongly believe that the Welsh economy is geared towards niche and growth industries which will see the region thrive
What plans do you have for your business in 2022?
Developing the next generation of finance qualifications, with world-leading curriculum content, assessment methods and learning pathways. This will allow the next generation of accountants to learn their craft in the way they know best.
Why did you choose to sponsor the Finance Awards Wales 2022?
They highlighted successes in Wales both within organizations and in the wider community, which previously would have only been noticed by a few.
If you’ve sponsored the awards before, what were your highlights from last year’s ceremony?
Being able to see each other in person and celebrate success!!
