Full Moon BBQ in Alabaster Receives Small Employer of the Year Award at Annual Alabama Governor’s Committee Awards

ALABASTER – Full Moon BBQ’s Alabaster location received special recognition at the annual Alabama Governor’s Committee for the Employment of Persons with Disabilities (AGCEPD) awards ceremony on Thursday, September 8.
AGCEPD is a program of the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services. The goals of the program include educating the public about the benefits of hiring people with disabilities and promoting greater independence for people with disabilities.
The awards ceremony is held annually to highlight Alabama businesses that hire people with disabilities in the community.
At Friday’s ceremony, Alabaster Full Moon BBQ was awarded the Small Employer of the Year award by Governor Kay Ivey. The award recognizes companies for hiring “talented, determined and competent people with disabilities who understand the value of recruiting and hiring people with disabilities and creating a positive culture of inclusion in their company,” the company wrote in a Facebook post on Friday, September 9. .
“To Governor Kay Ivey and the entire Alabama Governor’s Committee, thank you for this great honor,” the post said.
Ivey commended the various companies in Alabama for their dedication to representing people with disabilities in the workforce in such a positive way and encouraged more companies to give people with disabilities a chance.
“Persons with disabilities have achieved success on every level, and it is imperative that we continue to promote the abilities of all Alabamians,” she wrote in a post on Twitter.
