Kier Group has launched a recruitment drive in which it hopes to hire 1,200 new employees across its divisions and bring a new generation of talent to the construction industry.
Jobs are spread across the UK, including the Midlands, North West, South West, Scotland and Wales. Candidates will receive extensive training, so previous experience is not essential in all cases.
Some of the jobs available are technology engineer, sustainability coordinator, general operator, business analyst, and roles in finance, IT, and human resources.
A statement from Kier said the company hopes to attract a wide range of talent, skills and experience to the group, from a variety of backgrounds and industries.
Entry levels of jobs range from graduate to apprentice to kickstart opportunities. Kier also has a program called make ground which aims to help ex-offenders find sustainable employment.
The construction company also prides itself on being a socially responsible employer, with extended maternity, paternity and parental leave, and offering paid leave to anyone experiencing pregnancy loss or menopause. Employees are also offered two paid days off to conduct volunteer activities in their local communities.
Helen Redfern, Kier Group HR Director, said: “At Kier we have a strong pipeline of works, delivering some of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK and we are also playing a vital role in transforming the construction industry. It’s an exciting time to join us and through this large-scale recruitment campaign, we hope to attract a new and diverse range of talent.
“I am committed to breaking down barriers within the construction industry to ensure that we provide opportunities for people from all places, backgrounds and sectors to bring new skills, inclusive approach and a diversity of thinking as we drive change to deliver our projects faster, safer and greener than ever.
“I am extremely proud of the progressive approach we take at Kier. From career development plans to the policies we have in place and the wellness support we provide, we do everything we can to help our employees thrive.
